Guide to Mallorca

Moving arround Mallorca

There are daily bus links between all villages and tourist resorts and the Plaça d´Espanya in Palma de Mallorca. From Palma there is an extensive network of urban buses which connect the city centre with the airport, Platja de Palma or El Arenal, the university and all areas of the city.

Mallorca´s three local train lines also leave from Plaça d´Espanya. The station for the train to Sóller, which has become a tourist attraction in itself, is also located at Plaça d´Espanya, but it is separated from the main station, which is where trains to Inca, Sa Pobla and Manacor leave from.

Public transport is the best option for getting into the city and avoiding traffic problems, but in order to get around the island and discover its hidden-away corners, travelling by car is best, though more adventurous visitors opt to travel by bicycle. Mallorca has an extensive network of well-signposted roads, and given the short distances, it´s easy to travel around.
