Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis

Sa Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis

Sa Calobra, which is situated in the heart of the Tramuntana Mountains, is one of the most visited places on Mallorca (Majorca) due to its beautiful and spectacular landscape. It can be reached via the narrow road PM-214-1, which can be taken from either Sóller or Lluc and which goes down to the sea on a 14 km route full of tight turns, 12 of which curve round at 80 degrees and one of which - the Nus de Corbata (Tie Knot) - turns at a full 360 degrees. Once at the bottom, there is a car park and some restaurants next to the beach of Sa Calobra, where the boat trips up the coast from Sóller stop. There is a 300 m route next to the cliffs, part of which runs through tunnels, which takes visitors to the spectacular mouth of the Torrent de Pareis; there is a small, pebbly beach here, where a choral concert is held on the second Sunday of July.

The beach of Torrent de Pareis is at the point where the torrent flows out to sea; the beach is surrounded by high rock walls, which run for a length of 30 m next to the sea and which are 200 m thick. This beach is completely unspoilt and natural, comprising pebbles and shingle.

The beach of Sa Calobra is 60 m long and 25 m wide, with a rocky seabed and a shoreline of pebbles and shingle.

Cala Tuent is a spectacularly beautiful beach on Mallorca´s north coast; it is located at the foot of a mountain and is surrounded by dense pine forest and some summer homes which were built from the 1960s onwards. It is 170 m long and 30 m wide, with pebbles and shingle on the beach and the seabed. This beach can be reached via a well signposted turn-off from the road PM-214-1 after travelling along it for about 11 kms in the direction of Sa Calobra.
