In the Plaça Major of Caimari you will find the parish church, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception built in the 19th century, the convent of Franciscan nuns, the Rectory and the Village House. Other points of architectural interest are the manor houses of Ca s’ Hereu and Son Albertí, of Islamic origin. Next to them the visitor can admire the Old Church, a jewel of rural religious architecture and the oldest public building in the neighbourhood. The Caimari Ethnological Park is also worth a visit: an open-air museum where one can see various examples of structures employed in traditional activities that occupied inhabitants of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains for many centuries as they made good use of the resources offered them by nature.

Traveller name: Aleix (March 2009) Restaurant Ca Na Toneta
Did you find this review useful?
