Originally a 17th century manor house, Es Molí was converted into a hotel in 1965, offering 4-star comfort in a stylish setting. The hotel stands on a slope opposite the village of Deià, with extensive views of the hillsides and valley down to the blue waters of the sea.
Literally Es Molí in catalan means ‘the mill’, and the mill in the estate once had its own source of water. Now it is used to supply the 32 m heated pool with fresh spring water. In the terraced gardens, it helps create a special special micro-climate for lush Mediterranean plants to grow, such as palms, orange and lemon trees, water lilies in the flower-covered pond, and ancient olive trees. It is a garden with countless little quiet spots to read, dream, or do a number of other activities.
Es Molí Hotel has 87 rooms, all of them have views to the sea and the Serra de Tramuntana mountains. Double* rooms are in an annex building, reached along a path and a very steep steps. As a result, they have particularly splendid panoramic views. Double superior rooms, are located in the main building and enjoy a balcony.
The pool bar offers light lunches, in a relaxed atmosphere with a daily changing menu. The hotel has two restaurants: one in the hotel itself, where set menus are served, and another 200 m from the hotel called Ca’n Quet, specializing in Mediterranean cuisine, with delicious fish and meat dishes. Twice a week evening meals in the hotel restaurant are accompanied by classical music, and once a week a typical Spanish dinner is served to the accompaniment of a guitar.
A coach service is available for bathers, operating between Es Molí Hotel and La Muleta: a cove with several terraces in the cliff. The cove has everything you could possibly want: crystal clear waters, snorkeling equipment, comfortable beach chairs, changing cabins, fresh-water showers and a snack bar for snacks and refreshing drinks. Once a week, the hotel organize walks in the mountains.
Es Molí Hotel is as well a genuine art gallery, with paintings by Deià artists. That is why regular guests bring their paintbrush and palette with them. Anyone who wishes can take part in painting and ceramic courses.
